TIPS & EXAMPLES: Tell us how you will you spend this grant money. Please be as specific as possible. This is not an area to justify spending, we simply want to know how funds are being spent.

Example response 1: This $30,000 grant will fund two workshop series. $20,000 will be used for instructor fees, $4,000 for food, and $6,000 for materials, including books, paper, and two laptop computers.

Example response 2: This grant will be added to our annual program budget: 62% for staff including counsellors and program facilitators, 23% for hiring contractors to deliver professional workshops, 10% to provide flexible wrap-around supports such as transportation, food, or materials (as needed), 5% for the organization's administrative costs.

TIPS & EXAMPLES: This is an opportunity to highlight your program’s successes, including its impact on participants and its effectiveness in helping them overcome challenges. Where possible, include quantitative objective results, such as participant surveys or research data.

In this question you may want to address the following:
     -
What are the outcomes of the program?
     - How do participants’ lives change during and after the program? 
     - What skills, tools, or resources do participants gain? 
     - How do you measure success?
     - What goals are set, and what percentage of participants achieve them? (EG. If your program helps youth aging out of foster care avoid homelessness, what % of youth who leave your program find stable housing?)

Example response: Participants typically enter the program with little to no skills in [example area] and leave with a certification in [example] and the skills necessary to gain entry level employment in their field, such as [example job], or [example job]. In an average cohort, 75% of participants gain employment within their field within 1 year of completing the program, and 5% go on to pursue further study in their field. Many participants have expressed that they found the subject matter helpful in their journey to financial independence. Our program has a 90% completion rate, despite participants having many instabilities in their every-day life. Many participants keep in touch with our staff after completing the program and several have come back to volunteer as mentors for new cohorts.
